Kendra became interested in health & fitness while in college; as a member of the University of North Texas’s Sleep and Health Lab, she participated in a number of studies involving the short term and long term affects of sleep, health, and physical activity on student’s psycho-social and academic functioning. Surrounded by poor examples of diet and exercise in her adolescence, as well as an immediate family with a tendency of obesity and related health issues, Kendra decided to become the example she lacked in her own life, to show others how it could be done. After 6 years of being a gym rat, she decided to take her love of fitness to a new level and compete in the National Physique Committee as a figure and physique competitor, winning the overall title at her second show. It was through this transformation that Kendra felt she found her true calling in life, and has since joined the health & fitness industry full-time as a Certified Personal Trainer at Life Time Fitness. Her passion for clean eating and healthy cooking have prompted her to pursue additional certifications in Nutrition. Kendra is currently prepping for the 2013 NPC National Bodybuilding Championships in November, where she will compete for IFBB Pro Card eligibility.
